I just finished up mentoring at a day camp for LGBT youth called Reel Queer Youth last week. It was truly one of the most rewarding experiences I've ever had. I left the screening of their completed films on Saturday filled with pride, love, compassion, and hope.
The queer youth that will run this world in the very near future need to know that their voices are important. Seeing them grasp that information and run with it- creating touching or memorable short films- was pretty inspiring.
Their films will be screened during the Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival this year. The date of the festival is from October 8 - 18. If you didn't already plan on going, you should reconsider!
I'm including a couple of photos, just because I'm super proud.
